B.man comes in second
Invercargill Brewery’s B.man lager was judged the second-best-brew in New Zealand after a recent blind tasting extravaganza of 58 of micro-brews.
Biman rated 39 of a possible 50 points, just a whisker behind the overall winner, Nelson Bays Dopplebock on 39.2.
Third place went to another Southern brew, Wanaka Tall Black which scored 37.3 on the ratebeer.com scale.
Hallertau Brewbar in Auckland put micro-brews from throughout the country to the taste test, submitting them for judging by a discerning mixture of dedicated beer drinkers and makers.
Hallertau posted results on its website Hallertau last week noting the results were for interest only, issuing the proviso: “End of the day it was just a bunch of people sitting around tasting and discussing beer, with the results an aside to having fun.”
The only way beer should be judged really!
